You may have seen the recent article in the AA magazine about modifying vehicles to allow New Zealanders living with disabilities to get around.

Did you know that Laura Fergusson’s Assessment Services provide this service across the South Island? Assessments are conducted by experienced Occupational Therapists who have completed extensive training in driver assessments and vehicle modifications. They have helped people with a range of disabilities get back to driving, with use of a range of modifications - from a left foot accelerator for someone with a right leg injury, to the purchase and modification of a vehicle that allows someone with a spinal cord injury to drive from their wheelchair!

In describing her enjoyment of the role as a transport assessor with our team, Margaret Boyle, says “ this role is very rewarding, enabling people to achieve their transport goals which may include returning to driving with the provision of vehicle modifications.”
