Thank you for coming to LFBIT events in 2021!

It has been an incredibly eventful year at the Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust. We held four major events this year, and we are so thankful for everyone who showed their support. We were overwhelmed by your kindness! And are ready for a break! Let’s have a look at the LFBIT events of 2021.

A Spanner in the Works - Book Launch

On the last day of March, we had the incredibly exciting launch of A Spanner in the Works - Traumatic Brain Injury, The Real Experience.

This book includes the stories of 12 individuals and family members who have experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI). A Spanner in the Works describes their journeys from TBI to recovery and coming to terms with a new normal. Their stories are hugely inspiring and humbling.

Artist Tony Cribb created the cover illustration for the book and donated two original art pieces which were auctioned on the night, raising over $4000!

“One” Campaign Launch

In July we launched our “One” capital fundraising campaign to valued members of our community. It was a fantastic evening to look to the future of LFBIT, and to begin our efforts to build our new campus!

Highlights of this evening can be viewed here!

We were incredibly fortunate to have the presence of our Foundation Patron, Sam Neill, who shared a love story between his best schoolmate Bill Nutt and his partner, both residents of Laura Fergusson Brain Injury Trust. We were incredibly moved by it, and you can watch his full speech here:

Art and Sculpture Exhibition

After being delayed by this year's lockdown, we were thrilled to host our Art and Sculpture exhibition in September! It was a fantastic opportunity to reunite as a community, and admire some incredible artwork by some fantastic artists!

Highlights from the opening evening can be viewed here!

Christmas Giving Fete

Finally, in November we held our Christmas Giving Fete, and were elated to invite the community into our home for what was a very successful day for all! A huge thank you to the LFBIT community for all of their hard work towards this event and all of our events this year. They would not have been a success without you!
