The physiotherapist will address any specific physical problems a person might have after sustaining an injury.
These might include:
- Balance and vestibular issues (dizziness)
- Coordination
- Paralysis
- Spasticity
- Exercise tolerance
- Pain
- Perception
- Proprioception
- Range of movement
- Strength
- Musculoskeletal problems
Often in the case of a person with a brain injury there may not be any obvious physical difficulties, however due to reduced fitness and tolerance, a person can be affected by fatigue. This will affect their overall functioning not just physically, but mentally as well. A regular gym/home exercise programme enables a person to build routine into their week and also build fitness. The physiotherapist will also look at any equipment that is needed to assist mobility and function.
