Our team of physiotherapists are experienced in neurological rehabilitation and specialise in physiotherapy following a traumatic brain injury, spinal and other complex injuries.
The physiotherapist will address any specific physical problems a person might have after sustaining an injury.
These might include:
- Balance and vestibular issues (dizziness)
- Coordination
- Paralysis
- Spasticity
- Exercise tolerance
- Pain
- Perception
- Proprioception
- Range of movement
- Strength
- Musculoskeletal problems
Often in the case of a person with a brain injury there may not be any obvious physical difficulties, however due to reduced fitness and tolerance, a person can be affected by fatigue. This will affect their overall functioning not just physically, but mentally as well. A regular gym/home exercise programme enables a person to build routine into their week and also build fitness. The physiotherapist will also look at any equipment that is needed to assist mobility and function.
Our physiotherapy services may be provided free of charge as part of various ACC contracts.
We can also see clients privately, in which case there will be a surcharge payable.
